This Refund Policy explains how cancellations, renewals, refunds, and billing support work for paid subscriptions to Releaseo.
Releaseo is sold as a hosted SaaS subscription for changelogs, announcements, roadmap communication, feature requests, feedback boards, and a simple in-app update widget.
This Refund Policy supplements (and is incorporated into) the Terms of Service.
1. Paddle as Merchant of Record
Our order process is conducted by Paddle.com, which acts as the Merchant of Record for all paid Releaseo subscriptions. Paddle handles checkout, payment processing, tax calculation and remittance, invoicing, refund processing, fraud screening, and first-line billing support.
Paddle may appear on card statements, invoices, receipts, checkout pages, subscription-management pages, and refund communications. Paddle’s terms and privacy notice apply to its services and govern the payment relationship; see https://paddle.net for Paddle buyer support.
2. Subscription renewals
Paid Releaseo plans renew automatically until canceled.
- Monthly subscriptions renew each month on the same calendar day (or the last day of the month if shorter).
- Yearly subscriptions renew each year on the anniversary of the initial paid purchase.
- Fees are charged in advance for the selected billing period.
- Sales tax, VAT, GST, or similar charges may be calculated and collected by Paddle at checkout or renewal.
- Pricing may change at renewal; we will give reasonable advance notice (typically at least 30 days) as required by applicable law.
You can cancel future renewals from your account billing area, through the subscription-management link in your Paddle receipt, by visiting the Paddle buyer portal at https://paddle.net, or by emailing [email protected].
3. Cancellation
Cancellation stops future renewals. Unless required by law or approved through the refund process, cancellation does not automatically refund fees already paid for the current billing period.
When a subscription is canceled, access normally continues until the end of the paid billing period, unless the account is terminated for cause (abuse, non-payment, fraud, or Terms of Service violation).
4. 30-day money-back guarantee (first paid subscription)
We offer a 30-day money-back guarantee on the first paid Releaseo subscription for a given customer organization. If Releaseo does not meet your needs, you may request a full refund of the initial paid subscription fee within 30 calendar days of the initial paid purchase date shown on the Paddle receipt.
4.1 What this guarantee covers
- The first paid subscription fee on a given organization, account, or workspace (one guarantee per customer organization).
- Refund is processed by Paddle through the original payment method where possible.
4.2 What this guarantee does not cover
- Renewal payments (monthly or yearly renewals after the first paid period).
- Plan upgrades or downgrades after the initial 30-day window.
- Accounts terminated for cause, fraud, abuse, excessive use, chargeback misuse, or Terms of Service violations.
- Negotiated agreements or order forms with different refund terms (those terms control).
- Add-ons, one-time charges, or third-party-pass-through fees once consumed.
- Taxes that have already been remitted by Paddle, unless the tax authority allows refund.
Nothing in this section limits any non-waivable statutory refund or withdrawal right you may have under applicable law.
5. EU / EEA / UK / Swiss right of withdrawal (consumers)
Where applicable consumer-protection law (such as the EU Consumer Rights Directive 2011/83/EU, the UK Consumer Contracts Regulations 2013, or equivalent Swiss law) gives a consumer the right to withdraw from a distance contract within 14 days, that right applies.
Because Releaseo is supplied as a digital service that starts immediately on subscription, by completing checkout you are asked to (a) expressly request immediate performance during the 14-day withdrawal period and (b) acknowledge that you lose the statutory right of withdrawal once performance is fully provided. To the extent the right of withdrawal still applies, you may exercise it within 14 days of the purchase by emailing [email protected]; Paddle will process eligible refunds.
The 30-day money-back guarantee in Section 4 is offered in addition to any non-waivable consumer rights and is generally more generous than the statutory minimum.
Releaseo is offered for business use. Most subscriptions are B2B and not subject to consumer-withdrawal protections, but where you qualify as a consumer under your local law, your statutory rights are preserved.
6. Refund requests
Refund requests are reviewed in accordance with applicable law, Paddle’s buyer policies, and the circumstances of the request.
You may request a refund by:
- using the “View receipt” or “Manage subscription” link in your Paddle transaction email;
- visiting https://paddle.net and selecting the refund or order-support option;
- emailing [email protected] so we can help review the issue.
Please include: account email, organization or workspace name, the Paddle transaction reference or invoice number, and a short description of the reason for the request.
If a refund is approved, it is normally returned through the original payment method, where supported by Paddle, your bank, and the card network. Timing depends on the payment method, Paddle processing windows, banks, card networks, and applicable law (typically 5–10 business days; some methods may take longer).
7. Technical problems or failed access
If a technical problem prevents you from accessing the Releaseo features included in your paid plan, contact [email protected] with your account email, workspace name, receipt or transaction reference, and a short description of the issue.
We will try to resolve access or provisioning issues first. If the issue cannot be resolved and the product was not delivered substantially as described, we may approve a refund request through Paddle on a full or pro-rated basis, depending on the severity and duration of the impact.
8. Currency, exchange, and fees
Subscription prices are listed in the currency shown at checkout (typically USD unless local Paddle pricing applies). If your bank or card issuer processes the payment in a different currency, exchange rates and bank/card fees are determined by the financial institution and are not refunded by Releaseo or Paddle. A refund is processed in the original currency where possible; foreign-exchange differences between the original charge and the refund are outside our control.
9. Abuse, fraud, and chargebacks
Refunds may be declined where there is evidence of fraud, refund abuse, account misuse, policy violations, excessive consumption, or other manipulative behavior.
If you believe a charge is incorrect, please contact us or Paddle before filing a payment dispute or chargeback. This helps resolve the issue faster and avoids unnecessary account restrictions.
Improperly filed chargebacks may lead to suspension or termination of the account in accordance with the Terms of Service, pending resolution.
10. Effect of a refund
If a subscription payment is refunded, access to the refunded plan or billing period may be suspended, downgraded, or terminated at the effective time of the refund. Customer Content may continue to be retained according to our retention practices and the Privacy Policy (see Privacy Policy §10), and we may keep billing, security, tax, and dispute records as required by law.
